GOO BACKGROUND
A number of socially constructed time-units ago, a goo-like substance was discovered in the bilges of Lake Superior ships and boats. The goo was discovered by boatswains and boat moons alike, when ships were brought in to port at the end of the liquid water season. During routine bilge draining, vessel technicians and engine room artificers noticed a dark, viscous and iridescent goo-adjacent substance. Initially ignored as a standard marine goo, Ashland resident Bernal Thompsen began investigating the goo as a replacement for lignum vitae on propeller bearings Bernal was the first to notice the strange behaviors of the Lake Superior goo, but his efforts were cut short due to his untimely passing under strange circumstances.
